The Friends and Family Test asks patients how likely they are to recommend their GP practice. Practices submit monthly to CQRS and NHS England publishes both the results and a submission checker that flags where data is missing, nil or unchanged. This dashboard shows both: the score, and whether the score can be trusted.
Reading this data: the percentage recommending is calculated over responses that gave a
rating, so a practice with 12 responses and one with 1,200 can show the same score — always read it
alongside responses per 1,000 patients. "No submission", "submitted zero responses" and
"breakdown withheld for small numbers" are three different things and are shown separately here; none of
them is treated as a low score. FFT was suspended for COVID, so the published series
jumps from February 2020 to July 2022 — trend lines break across that gap rather than drawing through it.
